Well it's that time again, winter is here.  It comes and goes, but not like the wind.  So what can us fisherman do to help pass the time, well ice fishing of course.  It's time to get our buckets and our ice fishing poles ready.  It's not something I look forward to, but at least it's fishing.  Ice fishing can be fun, it's really what you make of it.

I remember when I was younger and I went with my brother and his friend.  To make things interesting we would race to the tip up every time the flag sprung up.  We would see who would get there first then do a nice feet first slide next to the tip up, I don't suggest doing a head first slide.  Whoever got there first, of course got to real the fish up.  Stuff like this can make things a lot of fun, just be carefull when you make that big slide.  It was always exciting to see the flag up, because we knew we had a fish on.  You never know what could be at the end of your line.
