It's said the north coast is dynamite for Salmon fishing.  Every fall, fisherman flood the area to bag their share of king salmon.  But, since all the zones of the California coast have been closed off to protect the Sacramento River fall run Chinook, it's going to take some time to find the fish.  If you're new to the area or haven't spent much time on the water, your best strategy is to look for baitfish schools on your fishfinder and keep an eye out for birds diving and feeding.
